As you step through the natural wooden gate onto the brick pathway, you will be embraced by this private garden oasis. Tranquility will overcome you as you pass Buddha, smile at the "just perfect size" pool and you ring the bronze temple bell each time you enter and channel Hemingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls".
Owned by award winning Key West authors, this pet-friendly, quiet bungalow is an inspiration for mystery and romance lovers the world over.
Even doing dishes is a delight as you gaze out upon the swaying palm fronds from the jalousie window and have the tropical breezes flow through the adjustable louvers. Al Fresco dining is at its best under the fan-cooled loggia. A large soothing hot tub is an added bonus next to the outdoor shower that will have you showering outside whenever possible during your stay.

LOCATION
Located in the historic district of quiet "Upper Duval" and close to South Beach, there are over twenty diverse restaurants within walking distance. Choose from quick sandwich shops (to take on a picnic to nearby Fort Zachary Taylor State Park & Beach), ethnic options or white linen dining. If you prefer, you can grill your day's catch or cook in the gourmet kitchen and enjoy al fresco dining by the pool.

Walk only a block, and step back in time for a wonderful tour of Hemingway House where he wrote "Death in the Afternoon", "Winner Take Nothing", "To Have and Have Not", "Green Hills of Africa" and finished "A Farewell to Arms". Walk a few blocks to Southernmost Point or South Beach to search for an "Old Man in the Sea" or watch the sunrise.

Cottage-urban fusion When cottage and urban chic meet, this is the vibe of the beautiful interior. The kitchen fuses a blend of butcher block island and shelving, crisp white Caesarstone counters and deep blue tiles of the ocean. The open floor plan means no one is left out of the conversation when in the kitchen or living room. The look is clean and uncluttered. The authentic Saltillo tiled floors are maintenance free for sandy feet and paws.
Sleeping The main floor's tranquil master bedroom has a king bed and His and Her's closets. The main floor guest room has a sleeper sofa with a Tempurpedic queen mattress. Grandchildren will love the animal photos from Africa. Readers will find the "The Complete Short Stories of Hemingway" on the bookshelf amongst other Florida authors including those written by the owners. Or use the desk as a quiet office space.
