Meander upstairs to the master bedroom with bath ensuite and private deck. Bathroom is smaller than average with all the essentials to rejuvenate you in the morning to start your day off right or after some fun in the sun. Guest bedroom with private deck overlooks the lushly landscaped walkways that Truman Annex is known for. Guest bathroom in the hall is compact and neat with a full size washer/dryer so pack light.

Parking is limited to one parking space per unit and vehicles over 18’ long or 80” wide are not allowed on property. No large trucks, trailers, mobile homes, vans, campers or similar vehicles shall be parked in the Truman Annex. Motorcycles and scooters must be parked in the parking lot and not on sidewalks or porches. All vehicles parked within the community must either have a permanent parking sticker or a temporary parking pass (obtained at the Security Guardhouse). All others will be subject to ticketing and towing.

Great location, was very clean and welcoming environment. All brand new appliances and comfortable furniture, had a great time! Will stay again!

For our sixth visit to Key West and fourth stay in the Truman Annex complex we chose Crowner’s Jewel a conch style townhome. This was our second time staying in Crowner’s Jewel. This time for four weeks. We were pleased with our choice. The unit comes with everything you need or might need. It is in an ideal location; within walking distance of most points of interest. You only need to drive when you must shop for groceries or other supplies. Although you can walk to a store in the downtown area; however, you do pay higher prices for most items.
From a little research, it appears that the unit was sold a few years back. The new owners have made some changes that have significantly improved the unit. There are new stainless steel appliances throughout the unit. The furniture in the great room has been replaced as well as the patio/deck furniture. The main level half-bath has been renovated as well.
Not a criticism but a heads up; the small size of the showers, although manageable, will always be challenging for a LARGER person.
Given the opportunity, we will very seriously consider staying there again.

Some thoughts that the owners might consider to enhance even more the appearance and usability of the unit.
Consider a new mattress for the master bedroom bed. It seems to be “sagging” in the middle.
Attach the bottom of the mini-blinds to hold them in place and prevent them from being caught and bent. Especially the front and rear door sets of mini-blinds. We were very careful that they did not get caught as we opened/closed the doors.
Consider installing a ceiling fan over the outdoor patio area. It would help cool the area when it is hot and humid; making the area more usable and comfortable. Most individuals want to spend as much time as possible outside when they are at the unit.
Consider installing an awning on the upper balcony outside the master bedroom. This would accomplish two things:
1. Provide shade on the balcony as well as keeping the master bedroom somewhat cooler.
2. Prevent rain from hitting the balcony floor and dripping through onto the deck below. With the dripping of the rain you could not sit on the patio deck during rain events.
Consider adding an awning as an extension to the overhang currently above the rear patio area. This would accomplish three things:
1. Provide a greater amount of shade on the patio area during the day.
2. Prevent water from dripping and collecting on the table and chairs during rain events.
3. Allow individuals to remain outside without getting wet during most rain events.
 Several units adjacent to Crowner’s Jewel as well as other units we have stayed in have had these awnings. It was very nice to have them.

It was a perfect match for our needs. We liked Truman Annex as a great location far enough off Duval to be quiet at night and close enough to easily walk to all of the attractions.
