49th Annual Key West House and Garden Tours

The 49th Annual Key West House and Garden Tours, on March 14th and 15th from 10am to 4pm, allows visitors to see beautiful homes and gardens throughout the island.  It also allows visitors to see the varies tastes and originality of the homeowners in Key West.

31st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Bar Stroll

Join Rick Dostal, founder and event organizer, for the 31st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Bar Stroll on Saturday March 14th.

The event is sponsored by nine of the finest bars in town (see the list at the website listed below) and is co-sponsored by Bud Light.

T-shirts to the event will be revealed on March 7th and tickets to this Key West tradition go on sale on March 10th at the best watering holes in town.   

Proceeds benefit the Cancer Foundation of the Florida Keys and the Boys and Girls Club.

47th Annual Conch Shell Blowing Contest

The 47th Annual Conch (pronounced KONK) Shell Blowing Contest is happening on March 7th starting at 1:30. The Shell Blowing Contest is held at the garden of the Oldest House in Key West, 322 Duval Street.

The event is free to everyone who wants to participate in this Key West activity and tradition.  For those who do not have their own conch shell in their possession they are available for purchase at the event.

Participants are asked to pre-register for the event at the Oldest House Museum from 11:30 to 1 p.m. the day of the event, or at the event itself if space is still available.

Particpants will be judged on the quality, duration and loudness and

Entrants are judged on the quality, duration and loudness, and novelty of the sound they produced.

7th Annual Key West Boat Show

Join Captain Michael Petro for the 7th Annual Key West Boat Show! The boat show is one of several free things to do in Key West that is a family friendly activity on the Truman Annex Waterfront, from Friday, February 27th to Sunday March 1st. The Show goes from Noon to sunset on Friday, 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 9am to 3pm on Sunday. You will be able to find new and used boats from boat dealers all around the Florida Keys, as well as fishing rods and reels, arts and crafts and a whole lot more!

There will also be live music, food and refreshing beverages.

For the kids there will be the “Fish Florida” program that gives away 800 free fishing rods, reels and tackle boxes. The kids will take part in a four part education program that shows kids how to correctly do angling, bait and tackle, knot tying, and casting. Then they receive their fishing gear and practice on the waterfront!

Proceeds from the boat show will benefit the Rotary Club of Key West’s scholarship fund.
