Lobster Season in Key West started with a big bang yesterday with people and boats from all over enjoying their time on the water catching those “bugs”.

4th of July in Key West

If you are looking for something to do as an activity on 4th of July in Key West, come on down to Key West where there is always something going on.

The Annual Hospice/ Visiting Nurses of the Florida Keys which will take place at the Casa Marina from 5pm-9pm. Tickets for the Picnic buffet cost $25 for adults, $10 for children 4 to 12, and under 4 are free. General admission to the picnic are $10, which includes free popcorn, free Pepsi and kids games. Another fun activity on 4th of July in Key West will be the Rotary Club of Key West’s annual picnic at the White Street Pier. This is a ‘bring your own picnic’ event and admission is free. Whichever picnic you chose to attend you will have great seats for viewing the fireworks display which begins around 9:00pm.

Hemingway Days July 21-26

Come join the celebration of Ernest Hemingway’s life July 21-July 26. Don’t miss out on all the great events that are lined up for this Key West tradition, here are just a few things that are happening.

Come explore his Key West home with guided tours happening daily.

On July 22nd from 5:30pm -7:30pm, at the Doubletree Grand Key Resort, come meet and get to know the current contestants and past winners of the “Papa” Hemingway Look a like contest. And enjoy food and fun which includes a cash bar and much more.

On July 23rd at 6:30pm, at the Famous Sloppy Joes, come see the 29th Annual “Papa” Hemingway look alike contest, first round.  And on Saturday July 25th the final round of the “Papa” Hemingway look alike contest will be taking place at Sloppy Joes at 6:30pm. Don’t miss it!
