Yesterday marked the kickoff for the 2010 Better Angels Key West Songwriters’ Festival. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Festival, which benefits the Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation. If you are planning on a Key West Florida vacation this holiday season be sure you stop by the corner or White Street and Virginia Street to see what sculptures are in the Sandbox.

These  sculptures are fascinating as you watch them come to life, with only sand and water.

New Years Eve will be here before you know it, and if you don’t have plans yet you should make plans to come down to Key West to experience New Years Eve- Key West style.

We have a few of our own versions of the “ball drop”: there is the wench lowered at Schooner Wharf. The Red High Heel drop at Bourbon Street Bar. And finally the Conch drop at Sloppy Joe’s.

And if you need to see fireworks on New Years, you can head down to the White Street Pier at midnight.
