THE VICTORIA HOUSE - This gracious historical property, dating from the early 20th century, was built by prominent cigar manufacturer, William Otis Johnson. It is located just three blocks from Duval Street, in the heart of Key West’s Old Town, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, galleries, museums, theaters, seaports, Atlantic beaches, Gulf sunsets, watersports, and many other Key West attractions. Porches, terraces, and decks provide a seamless flow from the lovely interior spaces to the tropical gardens, pool, and spa. The house is constructed of Dade County pine and is newly refurnished with contemporary furniture, prints, artwork, and Key West memorabilia.
On the first floor of the main house, the spacious living room and dining room open to the covered dining porch, pool, spa and deck. The kitchen has granite countertops and top-of-the line stainless steel appliances. In addition, there is an elegant foyer, a sitting area with WIFI, and one full and one half bath. Up the grand staircase, there is a second-floor sitting area that opens onto the front porch, two large bedrooms, each with en suite full baths. One bedroom opens to the front porch and the other to a large terrace on the rear, with spiral staircase to pool and decks below. The bright third floor has a sitting area, two connecting bedrooms, one full and one half bath, and a terrace that overlooks the pool and garden. There is a separate poolside guesthouse with a bedroom and a full bath. The air conditioned laundry, which includes sink, cabinets, and folding area, is located in a separate building to the left of the pool.
Flatscreen TVs, DVD, and cable are installed in the living room, all bedrooms, the guesthouse and the back deck. Living room has Bose sound dock; guesthouse and bedrooms have idock alarm clocks. Off-street parking is located in the brick courtyard behind the white picket fence. At the end of the day, the luxurious spa and spa fountain offer tranquility and relaxation amid tropical gardens graced by an ancient gumbo limbo tree.

I rented this house for my extended family when my sister got married! We had a perfect time. The pool and hot tub were awesome. The house is breath taking. Parking is on site. My sister got ready here and we took photos on the spiral staircase outside. This house was a priceless part of our wedding/family reunion. We were not disappointed about anything. It was better than we imagined.

A large group of us stayed here for a big birthday weekend and we had a blast. Everyone was very nice. The house was great. There was lots of room and very clean. We had everything in the house that we needed! We all were very pleased. We will rent it again soon!!!

We rented this home for my 40th birthday - 8 adults, mostly couples; the home was absolutely fantastic! This home has so much character and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Every couple had a private king suite with private bath; the beds were incredibly comfortable! I would highly recommend this house for groups of friends or families. The outdoor dining area was where we spent most of our time, day and night. The kitchen has everything you need, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Me and my friends loved this home, and look forward to visiting again in the very near future.

We (10 of us) stayed at the Victoria house for a week to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Six adults and 4 teens, and in spite of the rainy weather all week, we had a wonderful time. It is a great location, and has everything you could need provided with the house. We asked for a can opener, and very quickly, a new electric can opener was delivered. The beds were very comfortable and more than enough dishes and cookware were prvided. The pool was not quite as big as we expected, but most of us preferred the hot tub anyway. Couldn't ask for a better spot!!

The house is perfect for a family and/or group. The kitchen is well equiped and there are plenty of bathrooms, bedrooms, etc so all are comfortable. The air conditioner works very well on all levels of the home so sleeping was good. The backyard is great for outdoor activities and very private. Our only disappointment was how noisy the street is way into the night but that is location and nothing can be helped about that.

Beautiful home! The updated bathrooms and kitchen were lovely. When the outdoor grill did not work properly, a call to the management resulted in an immediate replacement.

The location of our home was perfect for the activities we planned. My husband and son went fishing daily and it was just a short drive to the marina. We were able to walk everywhere from this home. It was a great trip.

The property provided the perfect solution for our group. We needed private sleeping /bathroom accommodations for 4 couples as well as common areas for the entire group. The layout was remarkable. The 3 private decks off the main bedrooms were a nice touch. The kitchen spilled out to the outdoor area which included a pool, hot tub, lounge, outdoor eating area, grill, private laundry facility and master bedroom & bath off the pool. And...the tropical vegetation surrounding the property was truly awesome. The house exceeded all expectations! The location was directly in the middle of Key West so we were close to everything and anything. Our group rented bikes for the week. This made the trip exceptionally fun as we were no more than 5 minutes from any destination. The area was safe, the property was clean and the "At Home" staff was wonderful. Every request was met and the "can do" attitude was refreshing. The best indicator is the, "would you return" question and all responses from our group are a resounding Yes!!

Many utilities were broken. A great location but not a well maintained place.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. The two items that were in disrepair during your visit have been fixed. The oven part that was on order did not prevent use of the oven thankfully. The doors that had been damaged by a previous guest were a custom order that unfortunately took some time to arrive but they are now in place.
This home continues to offer our guests a memorable Key West experience that they will remember for years to come.

This is the 2nd time that my family and I have rented the Victoria House located at 806 Truman avenue in Key West, and unfortunately we noticed an obvious drop in the quality of this rental house. First, the positives. Victoria House is a perfect rental for a large extended family with five bedrooms, five full baths and two 1/2 baths. The location on Truman avenue is close to Duval Street, but far enough away to avoid most of the nightlife noise. Multiple king beds is a big plus as is the separate "king pool suite". The off-street parking is also very convenient, and the management company did an excellent job of cleaning the house for our arrival. Now for the negatives. Since our last stay at the Victoria House, both the house and outside landscaping show a bit of wear. The bedding was old, worn and stained, many of the outside potted plants were dead or dying, and the tree over the off-street parking drops sap that make the use of this off-street parking almost useless. The walls between the upstairs bedrooms are very thin, and you can hear any movement above you on the third floor due to the wood plank floors. We had a problem with the management agent related to some previous damage done to the kitchen patio doors, but this damage is probably corrected by now. Finally, we had to rearrange the kitchen cabinets to actually effectively use the kitchen, and there is very little kitchen working counter space. All in all, the Victoria House is certainly not worth the 50% higher premium price charged over the Christmas and New Year's Holidays. Hopefully, the owners/management company will consider replacing all of the sheets and bedspreads as well as correct the tree sap problem over the off-street parking area that has been mentioned numerous times in other previous reviews of the Victoria House.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. Since this was your second time renting this home, you would know that it is a historic home, not insulated as our modern homes would be and the kitchen space is the same as it was on your first visit. The whitefly that drops sap from trees is an island-wide situation; trees have been treated and the whiteflies are moving on. We will certainly look at the bedding; this is the first we've heard this comment and it certainly could have been resolved while you were here if you had voiced this concern. Lastly, the kitchen doors that had been damaged by previous guests took time to replace as they were custom-made. We made the entryway available to you by fastening the shutters so you could use them and lock them for security; we did the best we could under the circumstances and apologize if the resolution was not satisfactory.

Right from the start the people of at Home In Key West were terrific to work with. They provided excellent customer service, and were most accomodating. The Victoria House was a great place for our group of 12 friends. Hanging-out in the back by the pool was great fun. The location near Duvall Street, and half-way between Mallory Square and the beaches on the other side of the island was perfect. We mostly walked everywhere! We had rented two cars for the drive from the mainland, and it was nice having off-street parking for them, although it's a tight fit for two mid-size cars. The Victoria House provided very comfortable accomodations for our large-ish group. It's a terrific place to rent.

Our family (11 of us) was in Key West to celebrate my mother-in law's 80th Birthday. We had a wonderful time at the Victoria House. It had plenty of space, beautifully furnished and in a great location. I would highly recommend at Home in Key West as an agency to work with to find a vacation property in Key West. Libby was fantastic to work with.

Overall we enjoyed it with five adults and seven children. Had trouble with the air conditioning on the third floor and was told it needed a new unit. It became tolerable with fans blowing cool air from the second floor to the third. Street noise in the front bedrooms. Large tree over the front parking area dripped sap which attracted ants so we could not use this area for parking.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We want you to know that the a/c on the 3rd floor has been replaced and the large tree in front has been treated for the insect that was causing the sap. We came to Key West for a sister's 50th birthday. There were 10 women. The house was perfect! So much charm. We spent a ton of time in the back yard in the pool. The house is in a great location where we could walk to everything. This was the sixth 50th birthday party we have done and I say probably the best. The house made it! One complaint - the coffee pot is too small! Thanks for a great time!

The charming house was well-equipped, cool, and spacious. My husband and I particularly enjoyed the "poolside bedroom." It was perfect for our son's wedding weekend with family and groomsmen staying in one location. The bride also used it as a central location for flowers, dressing, bridesmaids. We loved the pool and outside decks as well. The two refrigerators came in handy.

6 retired couples rented a 12 pass. van, drove to Key West.We stayed at the Victoria House, We arrived on Sunday, The keys were easy to find, the house was just as described on line. The beds were good, We sat arround the deck in the morning drinking coffee,making plans for the day, and usually back to the pool in the afternoon. With a group of 12, we had no trouble getting in to resturants. Everyone is ready to come back.
