Key West in April is full of events to Enjoy!
April is vastly approaching and you’re probably wondering what is there to do in Key West ??
We have looked around and found a few things that are definitely worth doing during your visit!
Are you looking to make some last minute plans for you and the family during the first weekend of April? The first event on the list is Mote Marine Laboratory’s Florida Keys Ocean Festival which will be held on April 2nd. There will be live music, activities for the kids, Free sky rides on Keys Energy Bucket Truck, bungee amusement, touch tanks and more! A lot of parents wonder what it is for their young children to do in Key West, well we have found it. The festival will be held at the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center (located on Key West’s Truman waterfront) 10 AM to 6 PM.
Fringe Theater of Key West (301 Whitehead) Presents “Conch Republic, The musical”. A chance to see the history on how the Conchs took on the Federal government to keep the island open to tourism. April is the month we celebrate the Conch Republic independence, a day in history when Key West seceded from the United States. Key West is FULL of history, there is so much to learn and see why not start by seeing this great musical! The dates for this outstanding performance are April 25, 28 & May 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19
Last but not least on our list is the 21st annual Taste of Key West, being held at the Truman waterfront on April 18th at 6PM. You have only one evening to get down there and experience cuisine from some of the best restaurants the island has to offer. One of the best reasons to visit Key West is the food. Rather you are a seafood lover, taco lover or have a sweet tooth there will be something to satisfy your taste buds.
