The 2016 theme of this year’s gathering is “Shorts: Stories, Essays & Other Briefs”. At the Seminar, readers from all over the world join the best writers of our time for the conversations, readings, lectures, and events that make up today’s smartest and most high-spirited literary gathering. The literary sessions will examine and celebrate the art of short forms. Most of the lectures and classes are on first-come, first-seated basis, and Sunday afternoon session is free and open to the public. The annual gathering attracts writers and readers from around the world for readings, discussions and lectures led by some of contemporary literature’s leading writers. 11th Annual Florida Keys Seafood Festival. January 16-17, 2016
A family-friendly event that celebrates the 11th anniversary this year is popular with local fresh Keys seafood, drinks, marine-related crafts, youth activities, and live music. Key West Half Marathon and 5K Run. January 17, 2016
Now in its 18th year, the Key West Half Marathon includes participants from all 50 States and 14 countries, including Denmark, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Brazil to name a few to compete in Key West’s balmy January climate.
