If you are visiting Key West in October, it is quite possible that you are partaking in one of the myriad of events associated with the island’s biggest event of the year—Fantasy Fest! Key West is known worldwide for this flamboyant festival that celebrates creativity and imagination, so if you visiting Key West during Fantasy Fest expect plenty of color and a party atmosphere throughout the month of October. Here are few events we highlighted for you that both proven  to be a lot of fun and to help a good cause.

Bahama Village Goombay Festival. October 23, 2015

This exuberant street party showcases island arts and crafts, music and food in the heart of Key West’s historic Bahama Village neighborhood. The festival’s main entertainment stage is located at the corner of Emma and Petronia streets, and features nonstop musical entertainment ranging from gospel to reggae. This family friendly street party continues on Saturday! Noon to midnight; FREE.

Zombie Bike Ride. October 25, 2015

We Cycle Bike Shop’s Zombie Bike Ride was created in 2009 and  since then has grown to epic proportions with the help of thousands of fun-loving, bike-riding, costume-sporting, and rock-and-roll singing townspeople.  A police escort leads the ride down US1, past the Zombie Beach Bash at Salute! Pet Masquerade. October 28, 2015

Dressed-up dogs, frolicking felines and other party animals are to steal the spotlight Wednesday, Oct. 28, during the annual Pet Masquerade and Parade. The wacky costume contest for domestic pets and their people is a highlight of the island city’s 10-day Fantasy Fest costuming and masking festival. Show starts at 5:30 PM on the lawns of the Casa Marina resort at 1500 Reynolds Street.
