Key West PrideFest honors the openness, diversity, and freedom in our city that have helped us earn recognition as one of the world’s top gay & lesbian vacation destinations. The 5-day long gala spotlights this all-accepting motto with an array of events including splashy pool parties, water excursions, beach parties, late-night dance parties, a tutu run, a film premier, Pride Pageants, drag shows, and one of the most talked about home town parades around (phew!). This event is jam-packed with fun, eclectic, flamboyant to-dos promoting acceptance & inclusion for visitors and residents of all sexual orientations —– a way of life in Key West for decades!
PrideFest also highlights gay and lesbian achievements in equality and this year, the VFW is hosting a meet and greet with openly gay Iraq veteran and author Rob Smith, of “Closets, Combat and Coming OUT”, Friday June 13th at 6pm. Rob will conduct a book signing, chat with guests, and celebrate his tremendous story in this incredible movement.
Join us as we celebrate the best part about our town —- our open and accepting attitude. “One Human Family” is our city motto, and our closets are only used for our costumes!
