This festival commemorates the anniversary of Mel Fisher’s discovery of the sunken Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de Atocha. On July 20 1985 Fisher and his crew uncovered a $450 million cashe of Atocha treasures and artifacts. The Kickoff Party for the Mel Fisher days will take place on July 12th at the Schooner Wharf Bar. Through the night more than $5,000 in Spanish treasure coins, emeralds, and cash will be given away. The four day festival will also include a carnival, a concert, silent auctions, and more.
